Nutrients and waste are moved through the body with the assistance of a fluid which flows freely through the body cavity then being contained in closed blood vessels

Actually we need closed circulatory system so that it helps in gas and waste exchange but that happens in the tracheal system in a grass hopper but in circulatory system for us. And here blood isn't always contained within blood vessels.
That's why it's not really necessary for it to have closed circulatory system, so it's open.
