Your Question: why is classification of elements necessary

Answer :

classification is important because it allows scientists to identify , groups and it's various such properties . For example elements that lie in a same column on the periodic table (called a "group") have identical valence electron configurations and consequently behave in a similar chemically. For instance, all the group 18 elements are inert, or noble gases. It also helps us to understand how different elements form different compounds.

Hence classification is necessary.
