Why is clayey soil not good for growing plants

becausethe clayey soil is fully made of the clay which the clay contracts with each other and the make too hard and its also not rich in humus also so its not suitable for the growth of the plants

Clayey soil is not suited for growing plants because the soil contains clay particles and does not have a good drainage the water will be floated at the surface. that`s why only wheat can grow in this kind of particular soil
