why is combustion called a exothermic reaction???

Because combustion needs formation of bonds which releases energy in the form of heat.

combustion reaction always involves oxygen anytime anything is burn and heat is evolved and in the exothermic reaction heat is also evolved that's why combustion is also known as exothermic reaction
