because As loss of Hydrogen is oxidation so, the reaction is an oxidation reaction. Similarly, in second step a Oxygen atom is added to form ethanoic acidfrom ethanal. ... From the above it is clear that, the conversion of ethanol to ethanoic acid is a oxidation reaction .

Here 2 atom hydrogen are removed and removal of hydrogen is oxygen reaction
