Copper has a low resistance and high melting point .

This would mean that when high magnitude of current flows through it it does not melt.

The entire purpose of fuse can't be fulfilled by copper

Hope it helps.

Because when there is overloading or short circuit there is a huge flow of eletrons . This will burn the wire and short circuit happens

Therefore fuse is used to stop the flow of current through the wire whenever there is huge flow of current so that damage can be prevented

Copper is a good conducter of electricity and can pass a lot of eletrons .

We have to use a material which will prevent y the passage of current .

Therefore copper wires are not used in electrical fuse
