why is dark inside the forest

It is dark inside the forest because sunlight is not able to pass through dense trees and climbers that covers the trees.

In a forest, branches of tall trees form a roof over other plants called canopy. This roof does not allow  sunlight to penetrate. Thus, the inside of a forest appears dark.
