on dhanterass we pray laxmi goddess. we pray him for worshiped to provide prosperity and well being. we celebrate because people thinking is that laxmi gives us money on dhanterass.

Dhanteras is celebrated on the first day of the Diwali.also known as Dhanvantari Trayodashi.
According to shastra it is said that on the day of Goddess Lakshmi came out from the ocean of milk during the churning of the Sea. This is the reason Goddess Lakshmi, along with Lord Kuber is worshiped on the day.
On this special day of Dhanteras, office and homes are decorated. Entrances are made colorful with lanterns and traditional Rangoli designs to welcome the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity.
