Why is dil sulphuric acid not an oxidizing and dehydrating agent???

H2SO4 has strong affinity for water. ... Since H2(SO)4 has a very high concentration of water in it therefore it is neither used as an oxidizing agent nor dehydrating agent. Reason why it is not used as an oxidizing agent : The acid is concentrated and so on it can remove water from the compound.
