Why is direction of h and i will be opposite for diamagnetic?

Paramagnetic materials are attracted by external magnetic fields whereas diamagnetic materials are repelled. Paramagnetic materials have at least one unpaired electron in the system, but diamagneticmaterials have all their electrons paired.
