DNA copying plays a very important role in reproduction. The parent organisms are capable of producing similar offspring due to DNA copying. Error in the DNA copying results in different looking young ones. DNA contains information in the genes present in them which are passed on to the next generation. These information containing genes in the DNA are responsible for the information that is given to the next generation. As error in the DNA copying causes variation in an organism, these variations help an individual of any species to cope with the extreme conditions of the environment otherwise the whole species will die.
