During a single cycle blood goes twice in the heart which is known as double circulation. It is necessary in human being to separate oxygenated and de-oxygenated blood because this makes their circulatory system is more efficient and helps in maintaining constant body temperature.

In humans double circulation is important as there is a need of separation between oxygenated blood and deoxygenated blood hence the four chambers are present

Blood flows through the heart twice.This is called as double circulation.
Pulmonary circulation:
Deoxygenated blood from all over the body gets collected into right auricle through superior and inferior venacava and coronary sinus From there it is taken to lungs for oxygenation. through pulmonary aorta.
Systemic circulation:
Oxygenated blood from lungs get collected into left auricle through four pulmonary veins.From there it is supplied to all body parts through systemic aorta
