Why is dowry system considered to be a social problem

because from boy side they are demanding for so much of dowry from girl side and if they are not giving them they kill the girl or torture her for dowry

Dowry is considered to be a social problem because the woman's are killed by the husband's and their relatives if she doesn't bring dowry this causes the reducing amount of population and not giving equal rights to woman
