Harmful Effects Caused by Improper Computer & Electronic WasteRecycling. Electronic waste affects nearly every system in the human body because they contain a plethora of toxic components including Mercury, Lead, Cadmium, Polybrominated Flame Retardants, Barium and Lithium.

(iii) These metals accumulate in the soil for long periods and thus

affect the biodiversity of the soil.

(iv) Many a times e-waste like battery etc. contain acids which make

the soil acidic.
