Why is electric bulb not to be touch when it has been switch on for a while?

The filament of electric bulb is made up of a metal called tungsten. It has high melting point and heats up quickly after electricity is passed to it. This is how the bulb glows. If you touch the bulb after it is switch on for a while the bulb will be hot and it may injure you.
