why is electronegativity of nitrogen is different in NH3 and and NO2​

Answer: Because of varying hybridisation of central Nitrogen atom.

Explanation:In nitrogen molecule, the central N is sp hybridised, in NH3 and NO2 , the central N are sp3 and sp2 hybridised respectively , thus s character is the greatest in sp; more the s character more will be the electronegativity. Hence order of elecronegativity of N : N2>NO2>NH3
