hi friend
here's your answer looking for
as your question is about "why is endocytosis found in animals only?"
your answer is------In the animal cell the plasma membrane and in the plant cell The outermost layer is the cell wall that is too regid.
And due to this rigidness the endocytosis can't be take place.
As the cell walls are very tough so the big particle cannot move from outer surroundings to be inner surrounding so endocytosis can't be happened in the plant cell because of this cell wall.
On the other hand the animal cells have the plasma membrane that is very thin and soft that can take the selective particle from the outer surrounding to enter the inner part of the cell.
hope this is helpful to you so please mark my answer as brainliest.

Answer:
Endocytosis is swallowing up of food and other substances from external medium by the plasma membrane. This is possible only when plasma membrane is in direct contact with external medium. It occurs only in animal cells. In plant cells, a cell wall is present on the plasma membrane. Therefore, their plasma membrane cannot perform endocytosis.
