why is energy requirement in mammals higher than that of amphibians?

We know that, Mammals come under endotherms which are warm blooded animals and produces their own heat to which they require more energy where as Amphibians come under ectotherms which are cold blooded animals such that they use the environmental heat which doesn't require much energy.
