Euglena is a protist that can both eat food and can photosynthesis. When acting as a heterotroph ,the Euglena surroundsa particle of food and consumes it by photosynthesis. When acting as a autotroph the Euglena utilizes chloroplasts to produce sugar by photosynthesis.
