Why is evaporation called a surface phenomenon? 1 marks

Bcoz molecules of water present on surface of liquid r bonded weakly as compared to inner molecules and when temperature increases hydrogen bonding between water molecules breaks. Due to this water molecules tend to evaporate. So it is called surface phenomenon.

Evaporation takes place from a surface by releasing out heat energy into surrounding atmosphere.
