Explanation:

Evaporation is a surface phenomenon because it occurs in the surface. For example when we put wet clothes for drying we spread them out so that the surface area gets increased. When the surface area increases the water will get enough space to get into vapour stage and thus evaporation happens easily.

Answer:

Heya mate

Evaporation is called a surface phenomenon as More will be the surface are more will be the evaporation. So it is directly proportion to it.

Let us take an example.

If we want to drink a hot tea .We place it in a plate instead of cup as the surface area of plate is more than a cup so in a plate a tea cools faster.

hope it helps you
