A fern is a member of a group of vascular plants (plants with xylem and phloem) that reproduce via spores and have neither seeds nor flowers.

A fern plants are a plant grouped within the species of vascular plants that can reproduce via spores, and that do not produce seeds nor flowers. Ferns do have branched stems and leaves, like other vascular plants. Ferns are vascular plants which means that they have water conducting vessels. Most fern plants have what are called fiddleheads that expand into fronds, which are each delicately divided.
