why is fluorine a more reactive nonmetal than chlorine

This is because the valence/bonding electrons are closer to the nucleus in Fluorine than they are Chlorine and others and thus more strongly attracted. Fluorine ismost electronegative, thus it is most reactive.

In nature fluorine gas more reactive than chlorine gas because due to size of its atom. since size of atom of flourine is smaller outer shell is closer to the nucleus and due to smaller size if a new electrom come near to this atom nucleus will attract fastly.
