why is fluorine atom smaller than chlorine atom

Sweatasaha21: it's all about their properties

It's not a scientific question.

Many peoples will tell u that chlorine have more atomic number than fluorine...so fluorine atom smaller than chlorine atom.It may possible that atom of more atomic number have less size than less atom of atomic number.

But it's not answer....it's nature existence.

kanedenorp: boy...... chlorine has a bigger atomic structure than fluorine
kanedenorp: see the periodic table then u talk
Anonymous: I know bro.read my answer carefully
maheshwaranlupp0yaxy: Thats the truth budd ...i agree that it's nature existence but still the atoms with more shells and more electrons in their valent shell posses high nuclear charge and the forces of attraction is more and the atomic size decreases.
maheshwaranlupp0yaxy: Pushkaranmole dude ur answer states that chlorine has more atomic number
Anonymous: Hmm.17 than 9
maheshwaranlupp0yaxy: So probably there are more shells in chlorine than fluorine which makes the atomic radius big and the nuclear charge is not able to pull the electrons towards them fully , so chlorine is bigger I suppose.

all the atom has their own size and structure.

Ab bhai ab ye mat poochne lagna ki humans chote bade kyun hote hai Aur kaale gore kyun hote hai.

maheshwaranlupp0yaxy: Humans are short and tall and that's because of their growth hormones, gene recombination and other factors.....u can't say that there is no reason behind
Anonymous: Yaa bad example
maheshwaranlupp0yaxy: Thnx for supporting
