➡LEAF has a job to prepare food... by utilising and combining solar energy and carbon dioxide and water to produce glucose and oxygen by a process called photosynthesis
➡but this prepared food is needed to be transported to different parts of the plant because they need energy to do different functions..
➡so... after utilising the required amount of food by all parts of plant... some food which is left out is stored in the form of STARCH for future utilisation....
➡this food stored can be in any region of plant...
food stored in ROOT:- carrots, beat root,.....
food stored in stem is called tubers...
➡so.. even though food is prepared in leaves ... it is found in root because ROOT requires it for energy generation ... and utilities this energy in various functions like Anchorage.... absorption of minerals...

➡it is just like... we HUMANS eat food... even though it is digested in alimentary canal... but digested and absorbed nutrients., vitamins, etc has to be transported to different parts of our body for energy production in the presence of oxygen... here in our case excess/ left out nutrients are stored in the form of glycogen...
