Why is food security a big concern to small farmers

Food security is essential in India so as to provide food to each and every person of the country so that no citizen can die because of hunger. Due to a natural calamity say drought ,total production of the foodgrains decreases . It creates a shortage of food in the affected areas.

The main earnings of a farmer is totally dependent on the selling value of their harvested crops.

Now,to sell crops at a good and profitable value,the farmers have to protect the crops from every types of contaminations.

For the large scale farmers,the minimum amount of contamination is tolerable.

But for the small scale farmers,the slightest amount of crop contamination can affect their annual earnings.

That's why food security is a major concern for the small scale farmers.
