Food security is essential in India so as to provide food to each and every person of the country so that no citizen can die because of hunger.
• Due to a natural calamity say drought ,total production of the foodgrains decreases .
• It creates a shortage of food in the affected areas.
• Due to shortage of food ,the prices goes up.
• At high prices some people cannot afford to buy food.
• If such calamity happens in a very widespread area or is stretched over a longer period of time ,it may cause a situation of starvation .

In the times of heavy rains and natural disasters the different crops gets damaged
so we can store when we cultivate more crop in godowns like places there is also no security the small animals like rats etc.... were eating and spoiling it so the food security is essential in India is the greatest in soil fertility here the land is so good for cultivate more crops and different crops
