food security is very important for any economy. this is because if the population of a country is food insecure, then it wouldnt be able to progress. for example, if the pople are food insecure, then their bodies will become weaker and thus they will be prone to diseases and malnutrition. this in turn would mean that the people would not be able to engage themselve in anything productive. hence, the econmy of the country wouldnt increase. whereas, if the people are food secure, then they'll be fit and will be able to engage themselves in various jobs and thus increase the economy of the country.

Food security is defined by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO ) as: when all people, at all times, have physical, social and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food that meets their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.On World Food Day, it's time to remind ourselves that economic growth is only sustainable if all countries have food security. ... Countries with very high levels of poverty and chronic malnutrition face limitations in human capital development, which is required to achieve sustainable growth.
