Football is a popular game because it is extremely exciting since it is fast-paced and quite easy to comprehend.
The game doesn't ask for high end equipments but JUST a Ball. And that's it!! Its the skill that one requires to play the game. Also, you can play football almost anywhere.
To the viewers, the game makes them laugh, cry, squeal with joy. :D The game connects the audience through their emotions. People who belong to a football club develop a strong community spirit.
Everyone plays football! Men, women, children, the elderly and even the physically challenged. For instance, when the blind play football, their team consists of about 5 people. They use a ball which makes a clattering noise so that they can hear the noise and accordingly, sense the direction and play. Here, only the goalkeeper is not blind.
(And, you probably would want to ask your grandparents if they'd like to play a game with you. It'd be real fun!)
In Iran, the female folk are allowed to play football even though they have to cover their hair and their bodies. Here, these rules don't matter as the main thing is to enjoy the game and have fun. This simply shows how widely accepted this sport is. :)
