Nacl+ H2o gives NaoH + cl2+ H20
This rxn is known as chlor alkali process bcoz It form two compound namely sodium hydroxide which is an alkali and chlorine which is termed as chlor..

when electricity is passed through the aqueous solution of sodium chloride it decomposes to form sodium hydroxide and chlorine .As the product is alkaline ( NaOH)we call it alkali and chlor from chlorine
