Explanation:
here is the answer
The reason you only see fossils in sedimentary rock is that these set of rocks are formed in much lower pressure and temperature, compared to other rock types. The pressure and temperature are quite low to the extent that they do not destroy the remains of dead plants and animals buried in the rock. That is the reason.

Fossils are found only in sedimentary rock
Explanation:
- Fossils refer to the preserved traces of dead organisms.
- In nature, all the rocks are broadly classified into three types.
- Igneous rock
- Sedimentary rock
- Metamorphic rock
- Out of these, igneous rock is the primary rock which is formed due to consolidation of magma. These rocks are formed in such high temperature and pressure that preservation of fossils become impossible.
- Sedimentary rocks are formed due to consolidation of sediments. They are formed at relatively low temperature and pressure and so the sediments can easily preserve a fossil. If the temperature and pressure conditions become favourable then these fossils may turn into sedimentary rock.Hence, fossils are found only in sedimentary rock.
- Metamorphic rocks are the transformed rock which are formed under extreme temperature and pressure conditions.Hence, has least probability of preservation of fossils.
