BCOZ IODINE REACTS WITH THE STARCH SOLUTION ND CHANGES ITS COLOUR TO DARK BLUE-BLACK ...THUS IT IS USED TO TEST THE PRESENCE OF STARCH..

vanshi0509: it is not necessary for te freshly prepared...if you are using a plant part,then it is necessaryotherwise the plant uses the starch..if you haven't cut the part of the plant
