Why is friction both a friend and a foe

friction is friend as it helps us to walk sit write hold things etc
whereas for foe it acts due to excessive friction wear and year occurs as in case of your sandals or in tyres due to friction sometimes spaceships can Bristol too............

stand firmly
Help us to move
Even vehicles move forward due to friction
If we are able to hold our mobile (as u holding your phone :) ) is also due to friction .
without friction we are not able to even stand .

on the other side friction is foe due to it causes wear and tear like in tyre of any vehicle got teared off due to friction.
Due to friction we have to apply extra force to negotiate it.
Due to friction extra enrgy is used up.
