On one hand, without friction the wheels of your vehicle would not be able to transfer any power to the ground, which means that they would spin faster and faster as you provide more energy but they would continue sliding without loss on the ground while your vehicle doesn’t move; on the other hand if there were no friction you would need to only accelerate your vehicle and then it would continue on its path without introducing any more power. The ideal would be to have friction at first and then turn it off, but you can’t have it all.
