yes because , the reason is dry ice or CO2 a crystalline in nature and energy is transferred directly into gases mediums from solid nature
and the process of converting directly from solid to gase called sublimation.This expansion causes a rapid temperature drop, and some of the carbon dioxide freezes into solid pellets of dry ice
