why is fuse wire made up of tin and lead why not with copper

Also the low melting point occur due to the lead. Other wise the fuse can cause problem due to the surface corrosion. Fuse wire is made of a tin-lead alloy and not copper because of the following reasons: ... In Fuse wire a copper wire can not be used because it has a high melting point.

hey mate!!!

➡️fuse wire is made up of lead and tin because they have low melting point where as copper has high melting point.

➡️The alloy result in good functioning of the fuse. As the tin cause the good conductivity property .

➡️Also the low melting point occur due to the lead. Other wise the fuse can cause problem due to the surface corrosion.
