It is called a living fossil becusz the chinese protected and preserved this particular species of gymnosperm and tihs particular species cannot be found anywhere else except in china.
The chinese believed it from centuries that the leaves of the ginko tree haped in sharpeningof mind and thinking skills.
It is the only last species of present on the earth now.
