graphite is good conductor of electricity becoz of its free electrons in its structure.but diamond has four bond which is used as covalent bond (by sharing of electrons).

Graphite can conduct electricity because of the delocalised (free) electrons in its structure.
These arise because each carbon atoms is only bonded to 3 other carbon atoms.
However, in diamond, all 4 over electrons on each carbon atoms are used in covalent bonding, so there are no delocalised electrons.
hope it will help you.
