why is graphite not used for making electrical wires??

graphite is a nonmetal and it is a poor conductor of electricity and graphite is used for making pencils

priyankajana: i agree its a nonmetal but its an exception that graphite is a very good conductor of electricity.

Graphite is not used for making wires because it shows properties of both metal and non-metal and The resistivity of graphite magnitude is substantially higher than common metal alloys such as aluminum, silver and copper.
