Why is gravitational field at the centre of the spherical shell zero?

SRK1729: gravitational force depends on radius and at centre radius will be zero
SRK1729: so earths radius at centre is zero

It is a result of the Newton's Shell Theorem. In simple language we can assume that all the mass is uniformly distributed on the outer edges of the shell and hence the gravitational field strength at any point inside the shell is zero.

Hope it help

Q.Why is gravitational field at the centre of the spherical shell zero?

Answer:-⤵️⤵️

✍On the outer edges of the the spherical shell, all the masses can be considered to be uniformly distributed. This can be considered as one of the major reasons as to why the field is zero at that point.

Moreover at the centre of the spherical shell, the mass behaves as a POINT.

Due to this mass distribution, the gravitational field on the left and right due to the mass distribution and that on the top and bottom with will be countered and thus this can be the explanation as to why it behaves like a point mass..✔
