Gujarat has a large flourishing textile industry which contributes largely to the arts and crafts of India, which is why Gujarat is termed as the textile state of India. The fabrics and textile produced here is much appreciated all over India as well as abroad.

As most of the countries from west like England Britain was importing and exporting there textile or woolen goods in India as gujarat was near the sea. more ower East India company has also put the effort for exporting and importing goods in India or from India
