Handicrafts are an important occupation in desert region because in this region landforms and climate is not favorable for cultivating crops, which is the main occupation of people here. This is why they prefer handicraft as their occupation and as to sustain their life through their source of income. The people living in the desert areas are so pastoral and they mainly live on trading and farming, livestock breeding. Women do handicraft works and the other works like butter making, rearing animal skins, making handcrafted clothes from them and bedding from the skin. As live stock breeding is their main source since the climate in the desert region doesn't allow them to farm frequently as it is unpredictable.
