• The acids are those who give out hydrogen ions when dissolved in water.
• Dry Hydrogen chloride cannot ionise and give out hydrogen ions to show it's acidic properties
• But, aqueous Hydrochloric acid can ionise into hydrogen and chlorine ions and can show it's properties as an acid.
Therefore,We can say that aqueous HCl can show it's acidic properties and dry HCl can't .
