Heat energy is needed to convert solid into a liquid because
heat energy increases the kinetic energy of the particles.

The
heat energy that it used to change 1 kg of solid into liquid at atmospheric pressure and at its melting point is called the latent heat of fusion.

your question is:why is heat energy needed to melt a solid ?what is heat energy called?

your answer is :
we need to heat energy because other stages like

<>liqiuid=liquid doesnt affect on solid

<>gas=it also doesn't affect

<>heat=it affect on solid because it is only material who is opposite of cold that can melt a solid.

the name heat energy is called solar energy

solar energy mean the hot rays that come out of sun.

solar energy is also used in place of electric in home
