Why is heat released when water is added to acids?

If you add an acid it shifts this balance of H+ causing the PH to drop and creating other molecules depending on the the the type of acid strong or weak that was added to the water. Inorganic and organic acids break down differently. Heat is released when high energy bonds are broken and form newer lower energy bonds.

water is like a cooling agent and cools almost everyone and everything when added to it. So,when we add acid to water their solution releases heat as water cools the acid to release heat. moreover there is concept of pH scale too to prove this.
