IUDs are ideal contraceptive for female who want space children as IUD intrauterine devices increase phagocytosis of sperms within uterus and the hormone releasing IUDs make uterus unsuitable for implantation and cervix hostile to sperms

Answer: The hormone releasing intrauterine device is device made up of plastic, which is inserted inside the uterus of the female which releases a low dose of hormone called as levonorgestrel.

These hormone releasing intrauterine device are effective for a time period of  five years. It make the uterus unsuitable for the implantation and prevent pregnancy.

The hormone released by these IUD thickens the mucus present in the cervix so that sperm can not get inside the uterus and it also affect the sperm ability to move inside the uterus by the fallopian tube, Which ultimately reduces the chance of fertilization. And ultimately act as a good birth control device.

It reduces the menstrual bleeding and the pain which is caused due to menstruation. It also prevent the abnormal growth of the cells in the lining of the uterus and protect from endometrial cancer. It is effective in treating the symptoms of  uterine fibroids and endometriosis.
