The hearts of vertebrates and molluscs are also myogenic. In the human heart, contraction is initiated by a special modified heart muscle known as sinoatrial node. ... Since the heart beat is initiated by the SA node and the impulse of contraction originates in the heart itself, the human heart is termed myogenic.

Human heart is the the most complicated organ of our body. It is situates inside thoracic cavity between the 5th and 6th vertebrae. It has a special type of muscle fibres called as cardiac muscles. The heart has some special groups of tissue called as conducting tissues. The are —
sianoatrial node ( SA node) : This is also called as the pacemaker of our heart. It is present in the upper part of right atrium. It initiates the heart beat.
atrioventricular node (AV node): this is called as pace setter of our heart . It helps in the conduction of impulse generated in SA node. It is present in the atrioventricular septum
bundle of HIS :It is having two branches ie., left and right. It conducts the impulse from AV node.
Purkinge fibres: These are minute fibrous filaments present in the myo cardium or heart muscle. It excites the muscles to contract and relax.
The conduction pathway of heart is
san node to av node to bundle of his to purkimje fibres. This can be easily depicted in an ECG.
