ice is more effective in cooling than water at same temperature because ice has latent energy stored in it.

Anonymous: ice has latent heat of fusion.when we apply ice then the heat required to melt the ice that is to over come the strong bonds of hydrogen more heat is required..so it takes a larger amount of heat and leaves the surface cool.

ice at 273 k is more effective than water bcoz it has latent heat.I.e hidden heat in the medium.
