The immune system is the system in our body that responds against a microbe that enters our body . It recruits many cells to the affected tissue to kill off the microbes in the tissue . This process is called inflammation . Inflammation causes swelling , and pain , but is an effective mechanism of the immune system . The immune system protects us against diseases and harmful microbes that cause infectious diseases . Since it protects our body against diseases and harmful microbes , we should eat healthy food to make the immune system active , so that it will be able to fight more effectively against diseases . Hence , the immune system is essential for our health. I hope the answer was helpful to you If it was please mark it as brainlist ❤️

The immune system, is made up of special cells, proteins, tissues, and organs that defends people against germs. The immune system is the body's defense against infectious organisms and other invaders. Invades can also be known as pathogen. Pathogen causes infection or disease. The immune system has two lines of defense. The first line of defense is Skin,Mucus, sweat, and body oil. Second line of defense is the stomach and the Phagocytes. Phagocytes are cells which "eat" foreign germs to destroy them.
