Why is independence day celebrated in india on 15 august and 14 in pakistan?

You may be knowing that our country got freedom at the midnight. But when the independence of Pakistan was declared rhe date was actually 14 August.

When India's freedom was declared the date was 15 August just after midnight.

However Pakistan independence day is celebrated on August 14 and Indians on August 15 because in 1947 the ceremonies for the transfer of power were held a day earlier in Pakistan so that the last British viceroy, Lord mountbatten of Burma could attend the ceremonies in both Pakistan and India
